Farm-scale Mapping of Soil Phosphorus and Potassium Fractions Using Geostatistical Technique

نویسندگان

چکیده

Phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are two major nutrients for agricultural productivity sustainability. The spatial variability maps of soil phosphorus content in surfacesoils collected through grid sampling technique were developed using geo-spatial technology Indian Council Agricultural Research-Indian Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) farm, New Delhi, India. Soil available P (NaHCO3-P) P-fractions such as NaOH extractable-P(NaOH-P), citrate-bicarbonate extractable (CB-P), citrate-bicarbonate-dithionite extractable-P(CBD-P) HCl extractable-P (HCl-P) sequential fractionation techniques K fractions(available-K non-exchangeable-K) estimated. In geostatistical technique, exploratory data analysis semivariogram & fractions conducted ordinary kriging was used interpolation mapping. On average basis, among the P-fractions, Ca-boundphosphorus had highest value followed by non-occluded Fe- Al-bound-P (i.e. NaOH-P)and occluded-P within iron oxide hydrous CBD-P). farmranged from 43.9 to 839.3 mg kg-1 non-exchangeable-K found be high veryhigh level (820-1921 kg-1). Among fractions, Ca-bound showed first order polynomial surface trend, which removed before interpolation. Semivariogram P- K-fractions at IARI farm indicated effective range dependency. Prediction K- semiarid thorough superior log-normal kriging. map based fertilizer recommendation management practices cropping systems farmarecrucial precision nutrient sustainable agriculture.

Does Soil Disturbance Affect Soil Phosphorus Fractions?

Increased turnover of organic matter as a result of soil disturbance (e.g. by soil tillage) is described in principle, but the direct influence of soil disturbance on soil P turnover especially for organic farming systems has not been sufficiently proven. The objective of the study was to evaluate the short term effect of soil disturbance on different soil P fractions in a soil shaking experime...

Fractions, uptake and fixation capacity of phosphorus and potassium in three contrasting soil orders

A controlled greenhouse experiment was conducted to study the fraction, uptake and fixation of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in three soils with contrasting characteristics. The experiment was carried out in two phases, viz., sorghum-Sudangrass depletion and test crop experiment with maize with three levels of fertility status (depleted, original and fertilized with 40 mg kg-1 P and K) and t...

Mapping Spatial Variability of Soil Salinity Using Remote Sensing Data and Geostatistical Analysis: A Case of Shadegan, Khuzestan

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...

Spatial analysis and risk mapping of soil-transmitted helminth infections in Brazil, using Bayesian geostatistical models.

Soil-transmitted helminths (Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and hookworm) negatively impact the health and wellbeing of hundreds of millions of people, particularly in tropical and subtropical countries, including Brazil. Reliable maps of the spatial distribution and estimates of the number of infected people are required for the control and eventual elimination of soil-transmitted he...

Quantitative Evaluation and Uncertainty Assessment on Geostatistical Simulation of Soil Salinity Using Electromagnetic Induction Technique

Diagnosis of soil salinity and characterizing its spatial variability both vertically and horizontally are needed to establish control measures in irrigated agriculture. In this regard, it is essential that salinity development in varying soil depths be known temporally and spatially. Apparent soil electrical conductivity, measured by electromagnetic induction instruments, has been widely used ...
